Half of the nitrogen in its structure is in the form of ammonium nitrogen (NH4-N) and the other half is in the form of nitrate nitrogen (NO3-N). While nitrate nitrogen is taken directly and easily by plant roots during the rapid growth and depositing period of the plants, most of the nitrogen in ammonium form is converted into nitrate nitrogen by the nitrogen bacteria in the soil, depending on the soil conditions. In this way, plants can easily meet their nitrogen needs.
