Calcium’s Function in Plants

sera SALATALIK ile ilgili görsel sonucu
Calcium chloride contains calcium and chloride, which are micronutrients plants need for normal growth and functioning. Calcium and chloride are used in photosynthesis and other cellular processes, and plants usually get them from the soil. Calcium is a multifunctional nutrient in plant physiology which influences nutrient availability and uptake and helps increase cell wall strength and thickness. Calcium levels in your plant affects the strength of stems, the quality of fruit produced and the plant’s susceptibility to certain diseases.

Fertilizer

Calcium fertilization of plants is sometimes confused with the application of lime or gypsum soil amendments. Applying these minerals to your soil may not sufficiently meet the calcium needs of your plants because they do not provide a soluble form of calcium that is readily available to your plants. Soluble sources of calcium, like calcium chloride, provide calcium that is immediately available to your plants, which is vital if your plant is showing symptoms of calcium deficiency, such as premature shedding of blossoms and buds, weakened stems, or dieback of branches, stems and other growing points.
