■ flushing out instrument parts with a syringe;
■ drying instrument interiors with compressed air;
■ disposing of “spent” glutaraldehyde solutions to the sanitary sewer;
■ performing maintenance procedures, such as filter or hose changes on automated processors that have not been pre-rinsed with water.
